The distribution of channels for the WIDE-FM Interim Table of Allotments was based on a fair distribution process where each incorporated city and town had a opportunity for an allotment.
For the Chicagoland area, most of the WIDE-FM allotments are in the suburbs.
Full service NCE FM stations will use channels in Band 6. WRME-LD (Me-TV FM) would be displaced and converted into a commercial allotment on 87.7.
There are also many LPFM opportunities on Band 6. LPFM opportunities also existing on Band 5 with the potential need to protect WVGK Channel 5 in Kalamazoo, MI.
