In the northern part of the Bay Area, there are four allotments that have the potential for wide area coverage and many LPFM opportunities.
Only Band 6 is available in this area due to the need to protect KRCB on Channel 5.
There is a LPTV FM6 station in San Jose, which could be converted to to a commercial allotment on 87.7. KFMY-LD in Petaluma, CA would also be displaced in ordero to introduce new WIDE-FM services into Band 6.
